Aiden McGeady: Has snubbed move to Wigan

Early on Thursday, Wigan were confident that they were set to pull off a real coup and land the Irish international.

Our sources understand that terms were agreed with all parties but the deal will not go ahead.

McGeady has been linked with a move back to Britain for most of this month - but he has seemingly decided not to make the move to the DW Stadium.

The news will be a blow to Roberto Martinez, who could also be about to lose out to Everton on the signing of Barnsley defender John Stones.
