Evans unclear on Dicko bid

Rotherham manager Steve Evans claims not to know whether his club have bid for sought-after Wigan striker Nouha Dicko.

Nouha Dicko: Highly coveted

Dicko, who had a productive loan spell with the Millers cut short last month, looks to have no future at the DW Stadium and Latics boss Uwe Rosler revealed there have been two offers lodged for the Frenchman.

The Millers are believed to be one of the clubs interested, but Evans, who reckons there are up to seven teams chasing Dicko, insists he leaves matters like that to chairman Tony Stewart and chief executive Paul Douglas.

"I wouldn't know who we have bid for or who we haven't," he said.

"I have put a list of players together and it is up to the chairman to decide whether to bid or not."

The Millers are planning a big recruitment drive in January after a host of exits last week.

Midfielders Michael Tidser and David Worrall left on loan, Pablo Mills' short-term deal was terminated early, Matt Tubbs headed back to parent club Bournemouth at the end of his loan spell and Daniel Nardiello, David Noble, Kayode Odejayi and Lionel Ainsworth were all allowed to extend their loan deals away from New York.

Cherries defender Miles Addison has already arrived on loan until the end of the season and Evans is eyeing up plenty more.

However, he is adamant he will not bring players in just for the sake of it.

"It's been non-stop," he added. "We're desperate to add to our squad, but we're not desperate to add just anyone, we're desperate for quality.

"We have identified talented players, either loan or permanent signings and now it's up to the chairman."

ven if United were to sign CR7 & Messi to play upfront, the fact remains Fletcher and Cleverly are playing in midfield. That's where the problem is. Fletcher is too slow with an awful pass, while Cleverly is simply rubbish
