Nouha Dicko: Wigan striker in talks with Wolves

The 21-year-old recently scored six goals in six appearances on loan at Rotherham United, including a brace in a 3-3 draw with Wolves before Christmas.

Rotherham had shown an interest in re-signing Dicko, while the likes of Millwall, Bournemouth, Bristol City, Bradford City and Peterborough United are also reported to be keen on the forward.

However, Dicko watched Wolves' 2-0 home win over Preston North End on Saturday and Jackett is now waiting to see how the discussions progress.

"Nouha Dicko was here for talks which will go on over the weekend," said Jackett told the club's official website following the victory over Preston.

"I've been concentrating on the game but I knew he was due here to speak to Jez and Kevin Thelwell.

"I don't know how it all went because my concentration over the last day or so has all been on this game. So I haven't met him today because of the game so we will see what happens.

"We are working very hard at trying to improve the squad now we have an opportunity with the window open.

"There are a few options that we have but I don't think there will be numerous additions but vital ones. What we want is a complement to what we have here already."

resumably, you wanted to keep the version of Downing that was never seen at Anfield. The one that another manager has managed to re-create. The one you passed over.
