Andy : You said Watford havent broken any written rules, then call them cheats? Which is it? They have worked within the rules, credit to them. I would say deep down people are bitter as they haven't been able to/didnt think to expolit the loophole. Comparing it to Google/Starbucks is ridiculous. Your talking billions, and comparing that to Watford loaning some players? Riiiight.....

The fact that these players are on loan is more-or-less irrelevant. Watford and the two parent clubs of all but one of the loanees (Udinese and Granada) are all owned by the Pozzo family. If the loan system didn't permit this kind of loan activity, then the Pozzos could just as easily transfer the players 'permanently' for a nominal fee and then transfer them back again whenever they felt like it. International loans are already considered permanent transfers by the league anyway, because there is no direct conflict of interest. Andy, you don't seem to understand the situation at all and you are presuming to know a lot about the motivations of the players involved. There is no 'moral cheating' going on here. As PolishJoe suggests, the fact that Watford now have access to players in the squads of two other clubs is no more unfair than being taken over by a billionaire. It¿s far from the first time that clubs in different countries have pooled their resources, and there is absolutely nothing stopping anyone else from doing the same. It may be an advantage, but it's not cheating, and it¿s not even close to a blank cheque.

Levi, since it doesn't say what was said in the lead up to his statement you can't really judge the inteligence, or lack of same, of his response. As bikejon says, is it really any different from what Man City, Chelsea and, somewhat less successfuly, QPR have done? In both cases the powers that be are going to try to change the rules to stop clubs having an unfair advantage but, for the time being, no rules are being broken. And Andy, do you not think that the "more honest" clubs in the league would not do exactly the same thing if they had the oportunity? I also think it's unfair by the way but, unfortunately for the rest of the league, it's not illegal.

He's a footballer so I don't expect him to understand. No rules have been broken, correct. But the complaint is that the rules should change. Actually, not such a subtle difference
