League announces shortlists

The Football League has announced the final shortlists ahead of their annual awards ceremony on Sunday.

Tom Ince: Blackpool winger nominated for Championship Player of the Year

Players will be honoured from each league and young players will also be recognised at the gala ceremony at The Brewery in London.

The 2013 shortlists are based on votes from the managers in the respective divisions.

The nominations for npower Championship Player of the Year are Blackpool's Thomas Ince, Glenn Murray from Crystal Palace and Watford's Matej Vydra

In npower League One, Coventry's Leon Clarke is nominated alongside Alan Judge from Notts County and Bournemouth's Matt Ritchie.

In npower League Two Exeter's Jamie Cureton is up for the award along with Gary Jones of Bradford and Port Vale's Tom Pope.

Ince and Vydra make the shortlist again for the Johnstone's Paint Young Player of the Year award - along with Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha.

AFC Bournemouth, Brighton & Hove Albion, Cardiff City, Doncaster Rovers, Oxford United and Plymouth Argyle have all been shortlisted for the Family Club of the Year award.

Cardiff City, Charlton Athletic, Derby County, Huddersfield Town and Tranmere Rovers are on the shortlist for the Coca-Cola Community Club of the Year award.

The nominations for Mitre Goal of the Year are Mark Hudson's for Cardiff against Derby County, Nick Powell's for Crewe against Cheltenham Town, Sam Byram's for Leeds against Oxford, Josh Wright's for Millwall against Burnley and Simon Cox's for Nottingham Forest against Birmingham.

Richard Heaselgrave, chief commercial officer at The Football League, said: "The Football League Awards are a great way to celebrate the work that goes on behind the scenes at each club, as well as the action that has taken place on the pitch each week.

"To make these shortlists is a real achievement. I would like to wish all those nominated the best of luck and we look forward to announcing the winners on the evening."
