The acquisition of creativity was intended to be a priority during the January transfer window, but Forest left their market moves too late and ended up empty-handed and without a boss as Alex McLeish parted ways with the club.

Davies has returned to the City Ground for a second spell, and has enjoyed a positive start to his reign - with Forest having collected 10 points from the last 12 on offer.

The Scot is, however, aware that the Reds are still lacking in the final third, with it important for his frontmen to be provided with the ammunition they require from the wings if they are to pose a threat to opposition defences.

Davies has made it clear that he will not be bringing in players for the sake of it, and is not a fan of the loan market, but he has hinted that fresh faces could be on their way as Forest attempt to stage a late charge for the Championship play-offs.

"Until we find some natural wide players who can run at full-backs and get crosses into the box I refuse to criticise our strikers if they don't score, I've told them that," Davies told the club's official website.

"The balance of the side isn't quite right for what they require and I cannot fault their work rate.

"This is a long-term problem which we need to address as the weeks and months go by, but for now we are looking to keep as fit as we can and maintain some continuity."

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
