'No changes' to Cardiff crest

Cardiff have insisted they will make no changes to the club crest "for the foreseeable future".

Billionaire owner Tan Sri Vincent Tan was last week denied he was considering rebranding the club as the Cardiff Dragons, and further reports surfaced that he wanted to change the club crest if they achieved promotion this season.

The Malaysian businessman oversaw the club's change of home kit from blue to red last summer, and a new badge featuring a red dragon alongside a bluebird was also introduced.

But Cardiff issued a statement on their official website announcing that the club's crest will not be altered after Tan held talks with the management team.

It read: "Cardiff City Football Club can confirm that the board has agreed to retain the existing club crest for the foreseeable future, without any modifications or changes.

"The board was advised by Tan Sri Vincent Tan on this confirmation, based on the guidance and recommendations of the Cardiff City management team.

"Tan Sri Vincent Tan would like to place on record his thanks to the management team on this matter.

"All at Cardiff City Football Club should now remain fully focused in supporting Malky Mackay and his squad for the remaining fixtures of the season.

"We call on all supporters to continue their incredible backing, both home and away. All support received is invaluable, appreciated and a vital factor towards our shared goals and aspirations going forward."

ou can't blame De Gea for wanting to leave, he has enough to do in front of goal as it is as well as taking on the role of Man Utd's version of Derek Acorah in trying to contact and organise a defence that isn't there.
