Caretaker boss Guy Whittingham faces battle to hold onto Adam Webster

The 18-year-old centre-back has emerged as a target for a host of Premier League and Championship clubs after impressing for Pompey this season.

The League One side are facing a battle to keep hold of Webster given their ongoing financial situation and would be unlikely to resist a serious bid.

Webster's suitors are expected to be checking out the highly-rated youngster while on England Under 19 duty against Turkey next week.

Webster made his Portsmouth debut against West Ham in January of last year, just one week after his 17th birthday, and has gone on to make 18 appearances for the club this season.
