Nouha Dicko: Ready to step up to the plate for Wolves

Wanderers' 15-goal striker suffered a broken fibula during Easter Monday's 3-2 win at local rivals Birmingham, joining key trio Bakary Sako, Dave Edwards and Carl Ikeme on the sidelines after they picked up long-term injuries just prior to the international break.

Versatile Wigan winger Dicko was signed shortly before the close of the loan window last Thursday, arriving on a deal until the end of the season, and duly replaced Ebanks-Blake in the second half at St Andrew's.

The 20-year-old managed nine goals in 38 appearances for Blackpool over two separate loan spells towards the back end of last season and first half of this, and he is keen to be the man to help secure relegation-threatened Wolves' Championship status.

"Of course, I'm hoping to play a big part in the final few games and help the team to get some more important points," he told the club's official website.

"Hopefully I'll be able to help keep the club in the league because that is vital for everyone here."

He added: "The atmosphere in the squad is really good - it's probably a lot better than it has been in the last few weeks!

"We are obviously delighted to get the win against Birmingham, but other teams in the relegation fight keep winning as well, so it's still really tight at the bottom of the league.

"But for us, to get a win against a team like Birmingham - who would have been full of confidence after beating Crystal Palace 4-0 - shows we've got a lot of quality, but also a good mentality and plenty of desire. We showed all of that against Birmingham and that bodes well for the rest of the season."

was there, it was embarrassing - the team looked totally unbalanced from the off, the defence was woeful and when Mikel came off injured it got even worse with nobody in front of them. Up front on several occasions we had opportunities and nobody would shoot - it was a complete farse! On the back of Salah's performance I'm glad there is talk of getting shot...

reat to see Tommy Rosicky getting some love. A wonderful player. Such a pity we lost so long to injury. I was so excited when we signed him, this resurgence only makes the absences seem more of a lost opportunity.
