Sheffield Wednesday boss Dave Jones has warned his players they must focus on their own results to survive in the Championshp.

Dave Jones: Wants Sheffield Wednesday to focus on own results

The Owls are above the drop zone on goal difference, with 11 teams separated by just five points at the bottom.

But Jones wants Wednesday to keep survival in their own hands by focussing on their own performances.

"You can't rely on what others are doing, you've got to do it yourself," he told the club's official website.

"If you rely on someone else to help you out in football, it doesn't normally work out. It's best to do it yourself.

"You get more pleasure that way as well. We are working hard for it and everyone is up for the fight.

"There is a good atmosphere in this place, the players are working really hard, they are playing well and everybody knows what is expected of them.

"At this time of the year you can have disharmony, pressure or whatever else, but we're going into games enjoying it and that is important."
