Owain Fon Williams: Set to sign new deal with Tranmere

The likes of Ipswich Town and Blackpool were keen on trying to persuade the Welsh keeper to leave Prenton Park, where he is out of contract.

However, the 26-year-old looks set to finalise a new agreement with Tranmere after joining them for pre-season training this week.

Rovers boss Ronnie Moore has previously stated that he was confident that Fon Williams would stay.

"He's had offers from elsewhere that he has turned down and says he wants to stay here, so hopefully we will get that sorted soon," he said earlier this month.
