Gerken links up with Ipswich

Ipswich Town have signed goalkeeper Dean Gerken on a two-year deal after he impressed on trial at Portman Road.

Dean Gerken: Staying in the Championship with Ipswich Town

The 28-year-old was a free agent after leaving Bristol City in the wake of their relegation from the Championship last season.

Gerken started his career with Colchester United and played more than 100 league games in seven years before a loan spell with Darlington.

He joined Bristol City for an undisclosed fee in the summer of 2009 but lost his place in January when he made what turned out to be his last appearance for the club against Leicester in a 4-0 home defeat.

Gerken is reunited with two Ashton Gate team-mates at Ipswich - Cole Skuse and Paul Anderson - as well as ex-Colchester team-mate Anthony Wordsworth.

think Liverpool should start trying alternative therapy now, given that Sturridge's hips and knees are apparently unfathomable to modern medicine. Voodoo, acupuncture, healing oils, rolling in the snow after a hot bath, its all got to be worth a go now.
