Carrico, 25 next month, left Reading's training camp in Portugal on Monday afternoon and by Tuesday evening he was making his debut for Sevilla in a friendly against San Fernando.

The Portuguese player is expected to make the move to Sevilla permanent at the end of his loan spell, and he was applauded by Reading's players when he bade them farewell after a training session on Monday.

He arrived at the Madejski Stadium in January 2013 on a two-and-a-half year deal from Sporting Lisbon, but managed only three Barclays Premier League appearances.
