Real hit Bournemouth for six

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as Real Madrid secured a big victory at Bournemouth in the Cherries' celebratory exhibition match.

A Dean Court crowd of more than 11,000 saw the Spanish giants run out 6-0 winners in a game that was played more in the spirit of celebrating Bournemouth's promotion to the Championship than as a competitive work-out.

Ronaldo gave Madrid the lead on 22 minutes when he steered a free-kick past Darryl Flahavan in the home side's goal.

The Portuguese winger had tested Flahavan with a menacing free-kick in the early stages of the game but went one better to score the game's first goal.

Ronaldo doubled the visitors' advantage moments before half-time, seizing on an Elliott Ward mistake to take the ball around the keeper and slot into an empty net.

Sami Khedira then stabbed home a corner with what was almost the last kick of the first half to make it 3-0 to Real.

The Spanish side made four substitutions at half-time and one of the players entering the fray made an instant impact.

Arsenal target Gonzalo Higuain was played in behind the defence and produced a comfortable finish for the game's fourth goal.

Flahavan then pulled off a fantastic save to deny Higuain's powerful shot from the side of the six-yard box before Kaka hit the woodwork with an effort from the edge of the box.

On 69 minutes, Angel di Maria made it five, evading several Bournemouth challenges before placing his shot into the bottom corner from 18 yards.

With seven minutes to go, Brazil international midfielder Casemiro scored Real's sixth, collecting a wall pass inside the area and despatching his shot inside the near post.
