Mark Robins: The Huddersfield boss hopes to bring in a couple more players

Robins and director of football operations Ross Wilson are eager to add new faces to the squad before their trip to Nottingham Forest in just 11 days' time.

Town have already brought in winger Adam Hammill as well as strikers Jon Stead, Martin Paterson and James Vaughan as they aim to build a competitive squad.

But Robins has knocked back criticism of the club's handling of their transfer dealings by calling it a 'four-corner approach'.

"I don't know whether we are getting nearer or not at the moment, just that Ross is in dialogue with other clubs over one or two," Robins said in the Huddersfield Examiner.

"He keeps me informed on a daily basis but things shift and move and it's very difficult to know when something might come together, you just have to wait and see.

"He has publicly said we are hoping to get one or two in before the start of the season but we don't know whether that will happen or not at this stage."

Robins added: "Ross is very, very helpful and he's good at his job.

"He is a great guy, he's got an enormous amount of energy and he's focused - process driven.

"He has good ideas about what he likes and what he wants to see, but it is ultimately my decision whether a player enters the building or not.

"We obviously work closely with Dean Hoyle (chairman) and Nigel Clibbens (chief executive) and it's very much a four-corner approach here. It's a very healthy situation."

terling needs to be told though that upon entering the Arsenal squad he will re-enact the final scene from Highlander where he will be thrown around a warehouse by cartoon dragons and then be a mere mortal that will only ever spend three to four weeks a season playing football and the rest on the physio's bed. There can be only one.....player available at The Emirates.

he game changed in our favour when Carrick came on. We were able to play further up the pitch due to having a player who can give and go with the ball and keep possession. Yet barkley made some runs and Townsend scored a good goal but carrick's inclusion and chiellini's withdrawal made the biggest difference to the flow of the game

o, you've not silenced anyone Andros, i'm afraid. We know you can score a great goal, and it's really handy to have your direct running and willingness to shoot on the bench. But until you can do the other things expected of a winger (beat the man, put a decent cross in, stay wide etc) then you can't expect more than a regular cameo. Wonderful goal though, what a hit! No wonder Buffon wanted the shirt.
