The former Bristol City man pitted his wits against West Ham loanee Ravel Morrison and former England international Joey Barton on Saturday as QPR ran out 3-0 winners at Loftus Road and he admitted the experience was soured by the result.

"It was quite enjoyable," he said. "Obviously, they are very good players and that is why they are at the top of the league and paid the money they get.

"It is good to test yourself against the best and that is what Barton and Morrison are.

"But it is still a loss for us so it's very disappointing."

Meanwhile, boss Gary Johnson confirmed that Huddersfield loanee Duane Holmes, who was replaced after 29 minutes, rolled his ankle in the build-up to kick-off.
