Danny Rose: The defender is in no rush to return to Tottenham

The defender is currently on a season-long loan deal from White Hart Lane and has become a regular starter under manager Martin O'Neill.

The England Under-21 international has shown impressive form for the Black Cats and has started more games in one season for the Wearsiders than he did in six years at Spurs.

He is now ready to concentrate on finishing the season at the Stadium of Light and is in no rush to return to north London.

Rose, 22, is also hoping to get a chance of making the step up on the international scene.

"I honestly do not know what will happen next season," admitted Rose. "I do love Tottenham, they have done a lot for me over the years, I will be forever grateful for the stage I am at now. It's hugely down to them.

"But I am not prepared to go back to sit on the bench and watch other people play football. I've done that enough.

"I've got friends progressing into the England team and being in the squads. I'd like to think one day I'll have a shot at doing that.

"I'll only get that when I'm playing week-in, week-out, and I'm doing that here. I'm enjoying it here and I love being back up north.

"Nothing has been discussed with the management here or the management there about what's going to happen next season.

"I want to reiterate I will not be looking to sit on somebody else's bench again."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.

afa has to be favourite for the Everton job now, surely :) He'll realise his ambition to live and work on Merseyside again, get the best out of whoever plays for them, maybe win some cups and be thoroughly loathed by the toffee fans. What's not to like? Go ead, Ken, gimajob!

hat is arguably the least inspiring England I have ever seen. There is not a single name in that list that makes me think I might actually want to watch this team. Not a one.
