The Black Cats were strongly linked with the Croatia international prior to the 2012/13 campaign getting underway.

No agreement was put in place and Strinic has remained in the Ukraine.

Speculation regarding the 25-year-old's future has now resurfaced, with it suggested that Sunderland could rekindle their interest.

Strinic's representative doubts that will be the case, with it the opinion of Tonci Martic that a switch to Russia could be on the cards.

He told tuttomercatoweb: "We received a concrete proposal from Sunderland, but Dnipro rejected the deal.

"With regards to Dinamo Moscow, there have been no formal negotiations but maybe something will change in the summer."
