Maurizio Zamparini: Hopes to keep hold of Hernandez

Despite claims from Hernandez's agent that he could be on his way to England, with Sunderland reportedly interested, Zamparini has insisted that the 22-year-old is still in his plans.

"In our attack will be Abel Hernandez," Zamparini told Radio Mana Sport.

"This will be a kick in the ass for former coaches that didn't play him."

However, whilst the relegated Sicilians look set to lose star man Fabrizio Miccoli, Zamparini has already identified Kyle Lafferty as his replacement.

The former Rangers striker, currently playing in Switzerland with FC Sion, knows new Palermo boss Gennaro Gattuso from the Italian's time in Glasgow, and could link up with him again at the Stadio Renza Barbera.

"I followed him last year," Zamparini added.

"I can bring him to Palermo from Switzerland."

t's a bloody good goal, though. Sh!t, the kid's gonna be the worlds best before we know it, isn't he? He's got the touch of genius in him. Like Neymar, but with muscles and stuff. He's doing a Ronaldo as we watch. He's bulked up to be able to ride the tackles, but he's improved technically as well. His touch is sublime. Bugger.
