The highly-rated midfielder was last week forced to withdraw from the England Under-21 squad with a groin injury.

But after receiving treatment Hughes was back in training on Tuesday and could be available to new boss Steve McClaren when they take on Gianfranco Zola's Hornets at the weekend.

The 18-year-old, who is expected to be a target for a host of Premier League sides in January, has made 14 appearances so far this season and scored three goals.
