Danny Shittu: Back in the Nigeria squad

Nigeria have included Millwall defender Danny Shittu as they prepare for the tournament which begins in January.

The 32-year-old Millwall defender returns to international duty for the first time since he was dropped last year.

A total of 32 players were named for a warm-up match against Catalunya in Barcelona on 2 January, followed by a training camp in Portugal.

The Super Eagles pool will be trimmed to 23 by 9 January, the Nigerian football federation said on Saturday.

Odemwingie's exclusion continues a fractious relationship he has had with the Nigeria national team over the last 18 months and opens the door for Shola Ameobi.
