Zoltan Gera: Goal against Norwich helped end winless run of four games

The Baggies were the surprise package of the first half of the Premier League season, rising as high as third in the table, until a winless run of four games saw them slip up.

However the Hungarian's fourth goal of the season drew West Brom level against Norwich before Romelu Lukaku's header gave Steve Clarke's side a welcome win at the Hawthorns just before Christmas.

The Boxing Day win over QPR helped put the slump firmly behind West Brom, but Gera is convinced that the battle to beat Norwich will be remembered for the result but not the performance.

"For our game against Norwich we, including me, gave maybe our worst performances of the season," declared the 33-year-old to Nemzeti Sport.

"It's good to score a goal but the club's success is more important, and in the end we can be satisfied as we won.

"Having not won for four games, we needed that victory very much."

t's why Mourinho is so successful. He gives players a specific, limited set of functions to perform. They are but a cog in a machine. Do no more, do no less. I assume he learnt it from LvG :)

really hope that someone in the mainstream media spots that the Bayern manager played for and managed Barcelona quite well, and thinks to mention it in the build up. That would be really interesting.
