Darren Moore: Former team-mate of Michael Appleton

Darren Moore: Former team-mate of Michael Appleton

The 38-year-old, who was working as a professional development coach at Albion, is one of three new appointments to Michael Appleton's backroom staff.

Luke Dowling and Chris Neville, who both worked at Appleton's former club Portsmouth, join as head of senior recruitment and head of sports science.

Moore said: "When the gaffer asked me to come up here and be part of his staff, I was really excited and I can't wait to get started.

"We were team-mates together at West Bromwich Albion and after sustaining an injury early in his career, the gaffer started to pick up his coaching credentials.

"My career continued, but we've always kept that friendship going and we find ourselves working together."

Appleton said: "I'm delighted to welcome Chris, Luke and Darren to the club. I feel like we have put together a strong backroom team to add to the fantastic staff already in place."

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.

hat is arguably the least inspiring England I have ever seen. There is not a single name in that list that makes me think I might actually want to watch this team. Not a one.
