Nicolas Anelka: On brink of West Brom move

Sky sources understand the French striker will sign for Albion following an unhappy year in Chinese football and a short spell in Italy.

Anelka left Chelsea for Shanghai Shenhua in January 2012 but joined Juventus during this year's transfer window.

A move to The Hawthorns would reunite him with Steve Clarke, the Albion manager who was still a coach at Chelsea when the striker arrived at the start of 2008.

Anelka, 34, has played for 10 clubs in his career and West Brom now look likely to be his sixth in England.
