Clarke plans Rosenberg talks

West Brom head coach Steve Clarke has invited Markus Rosenberg to discuss his future with him after the striker expressed frustration at a lack of first-team opportunities.

Markus Rosenberg: Sweden striker reported to be unhappy at Hawthorns

Rosenberg has made 33 competitive appearances for the Baggies - 24 of which have been as a substitute - since Clarke signed him in the summer of 2012.

The 31-year-old Sweden international has failed to score a single goal in those matches and for the last couple of games he has not been included in the squad.

Reports in the Swedish media suggested the target man was unhappy with his Hawthorns career and Clarke said: "He should come and have a chat.

"There are a lot of games between now and the January transfer window.

"I'm experienced in the game, Markus is experienced in the game and he knows that things can change quickly in football.

"At the moment he is not getting too many chances and I can understand his frustration."

Talks between England U21 forward Saido Berahino, who has score five goals for his club, including a winner at Manchester United, are ongoing and Clarke added: "Things are progressing.

"The club and his representatives are talking and things are moving in the right direction. It won't be done before this weekend."

Clarke also dismissed talk that Scotland midfielder Graham Dorrans - another player to have been left out of the matchday squad recently - is set for a loan move.

Asked if there was a possibility of Dorrans being loaned out, Clarke said: "No. I involve him in training every day and he works hard.

"I have had a good chat with Graham and he understands the situation. We will keep working together.

"The January window at the moment seems a long way off. I know it's not in terms of weeks, but at the moment, in terms of games, it is a long way off."
