Dean Saunders: High-profile players may leave in summer

Wanderers are odds-on favourites to suffer back-to-back relegations as they go into the final round of fixtures three points adrift of safety at the wrong end of the Championship table.

The likes of Kevin Doyle, Roger Johnson, Bakary Sako, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake, Stephen Hunt and Jamie O'Hara are just some of the high-profile names who would be faced with leaving Molineux or plying their trade in League One next term.

And Saunders will hold a meeting with chairman Steve Morgan and chief executive Jez Moxey next week when Wolves' fate - either way - is decided.

"I'd imagine a lot of the players won't want to stay," the Welshman told the club's official website.

"They won't want to be playing in League One, so if that happens, we'll talk about it.

"Once we get through this week and get to the end of the season, we'll probably have a meeting - myself, Jez and the chairman - and we'll draw a plan up.

"Whether we're in the Championship or League One, we'll draw a plan up to make the club great again.

"That's what I want to do, but if we don't stay in the Championship, it will just take me a bit longer to do it. But at the moment we have to concentrate on Saturday because it might not happen.

"Let's just do what we can control and that's winning on Saturday."

Asked if he had already been approached by any of his players intimating a possible move, Saunders plied: "No. We haven't spoken about it."

S I've always envisioned him as a Pirlo or a Scholes, though he needs some of Andy Murray's conditioning and shiny, ankle supports to keep his own from buckling under the tackles that will (inevitably) come his way. He's got the physique and low centre of gravity to flourish, but needs to make himself more resilient.

s a United fan I fell I can say this without accusation of bias, Sergio Aguero is for me the only player close to Ronaldo or Messi, what goes against him is his injury record, Hazard is good in fits but doesn't give enough end product in my eyes, Tevez would be 4th for me
