On Soccer Saturday...

We'll be hearing from two players currently ensconced in a relegation battle on this week's Soccer Saturday.

Last Updated: 25/02/13 at 08:28 Post Comment

QPR centre-back Chris Samba, who made a big money move to Loftus Road from Russian side Anzhi in January, will tell us about trying to lift the Hoops off the bottom of the Premier League pile and Saturday's game with Manchester United.

Paul Scharner, meanwhile, returned to Wigan last month after penning a loan deal from Hamburg; the Austrian will reveal why he opted for a second stint at the DW Stadium, and how the club plan to keep themselves clear of the trap door.

Jeff Stelling and the boys will also talk about another relegation-threatened side in Aston Villa, as well as Chris Hughton's goal-shy Norwich and Sunday's Capital One Cup final between Swansea and Bradford.

Occurs

The Soccer Saturday team will bring you first news of all the afternoon's goals, too, from the clashes in the Premier League, Championship, League One, League Two and the SPL.

You will hear what occurs in the aforementioned contest between QPR and Man United, whether Villa can pile more misery on Arsenal, if Reading get the better of Scharner's Wigan and what transpires when West Brom host Sunderland.

There are some intriguing fixtures in the Championship, with Bristol City battling Barnsley in a relegation ding-dong, Sheffield Wednesday entertaining Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest, who smacked six past Huddersfield in midweek, visiting Charlton.

You'll be kept bang up to date with proceedings in those games, as well as with what happens north of the border where Inverness trek to Hearts and St Johnstone play at home to St Mirren.

Don't miss Soccer Saturday, from midday on Sky Sports News HD.

m starting to think Roman may never actually be happy at the top level. If he wants all conquering fancy football I wonder if he'd be better off buying a lower division side then paying outlandish salaries to attract high caliber players too good for the division.

afa has to be favourite for the Everton job now, surely :) He'll realise his ambition to live and work on Merseyside again, get the best out of whoever plays for them, maybe win some cups and be thoroughly loathed by the toffee fans. What's not to like? Go ead, Ken, gimajob!

hat is arguably the least inspiring England I have ever seen. There is not a single name in that list that makes me think I might actually want to watch this team. Not a one.
