The Potters confirmed the loan deal on their official website on Thursday after Edu flew out to Turkey on Wednesday evening to wrap up the move.
The USA international has failed to establish himself in Tony Pulis' first-team since his arrival from Rangers on transfer deadline day back in August.
Edu has made just one appearance as a substitute for Stoke, in the goalless draw at Liverpool in October.
Bursaspor have signed the 26-year-old to fill the void left by Alfred N'Diaye, who departed for Sunderland last week.
