Huth will miss Stoke's games against West Ham, Newcastle and West Brom having been cited by the FA for a clash with Philippe Senderos at the weekend.

He was charged retrospectively after referee Lee Probert missed the incident and City have been granted an additional 24 hours - until 6pm on Thursday - to decide whether to contest the charge.

Wilson is expected to compete with Ryan Shotton to fill the berth alongside Ryan Shawcross against West Ham.

"I will play anywhere for the team and do a job," said Wilson, who returned from four-months out with a broken leg against Fulham.

"There was a time at Portsmouth when all the centre-halves were out and I played about 20 games there."

Huth's absence will end his record of being the only Stoke player to have played every minute of every game this season.
