The 27-year old will link up with manager Sean Dyche who he played under during his three-month spell at Watford where he made 12 appearances in the 2011/12 campaign.

Kightly joined Stoke from Wolves last summer, but has found opportunities limited at the Britannia Stadium since the arrival of Mark Hughes, despite featuring 26 times during his debut season.

The winger, who was released by Tottenham as a youngster, becomes Dyche's ninth signing of the summer, and he joins an in-form side who have only lost once in their opening five Championship games.

Kightly earned his reputation during his five-year stint at Wolves where he made over 100 league appearances and helped to secure Premier League promotion.
