Peter Crouch: Confident Stoke will be successful under Mark Hughes

The Potters have been adapting to a new style of play this season after Tony Pulis left the club at the end of the previous campaign and Mark Hughes took charge.

While there has been praise for Hughes' passing approach, results have so far been inconsistent and Stoke are currently just a point above the relegation zone after 10 games.

Crouch is confident there will be an upturn in the team's fortunes as they adjust to the philosophy of the new boss.

"There has to be a bit of patience," he told The Sentinel. "It's always difficult changing styles, and when a new manager comes in there's normally a settling in period.

"But we've got the right ideas, and I believe we're heading in the right direction.

"We've played some good stuff, although a couple of games at home haven't been great. But it's only a matter of time before everything clicks and we go on a good run."

Stoke travel to Swansea City on Sunday and Crouch believes it could be a good time to face Michael Laudrup's side after their long trip to Russia to face Kuban Krasnodar on Thursday.

"It's not ideal preparation for Swansea travelling all that way," said the striker.

"On the other hand, we'll be fresh and ready to put a performance in. It's a good opportunity for us and we can go there full of confidence."

ood lord that's got me unnecessarily excited. Damn you Storey. Cut to Liverpool being crushed under the wheels of Sparky's Stoke Machine and Firmino brought off the bench to no effect. It's the hope that kills you.

think he'll do quite well. My only reservation would be Kagawa, who had similar stats to Firmino in the bundesliga before he came, but time will tell.
