Juan Agudelo: Set to join FC Utrecht on loan

The United States international said via Twitter that he will join the Eredivisie club until the end of the season, after failing to secure a UK work permit.

Last week, the Colombian-born forward confirmed his arrival at the Britannia Stadium by tweeting: "There's no other club that has supported and believed in me like @stokecity FC has. #SignedToday - 6 month loan imminent #Europeanfootballer."

Stoke have not officially confirmed the capture of Agudelo, but have offered the former New England Revolution star to several European sides in a bid to get him a work permit.

After reported interest from fellow Dutch team FC Twente, Agudelo ended speculation by tweeting: "Excited to be joining fcutrecht #FCUtrecht on Loan for the rest of the season."

The American is set to be available for Utrecht's Eredivisie match against Roda JC next Saturday.
