Asmir Begovic: Continues to be linked with Premier League heavyweights

The Potters shot-stopper has been the subject of intense transfer speculation for some time, with each passing window bringing a fresh round of rumours.

January has come and gone, however, with Begovic still on the books at the Britannia Stadium.

The likes of Arsenal, Manchester City and Manchester United are all reported to be monitoring his situation and a big-money approach could be made in the summer - especially if the Bosnia international impresses at the 2014 World Cup.

Begovic is reading little into the gossip, though, and will continue to give his all for Stoke until a formal approach is made.

He said in The Sun: "It's nice to hear positive things when big names in the game compliment you.

"It gives you extra motivation to do more and work harder every day.

"But I have always been happy at Stoke.

"I am developing and still young. Until something concrete comes up, you just focus on your job."

alcao really needs to shine now. Apparently according to the stats, he scores more when played up front alone. I wonder if Van Gaal will actually apply a formation to get the best out of him though.
