Ian Holloway: Cup tie against Stoke great for club's youngsters

Holloway's bench was filled with youngsters for Saturday's goalless draw with the Premier League side at Selhurst Park.

Teenage midfielder Jonny Williams got a run-out having struggle with injuries during the first half of the season and 20-year-old winger Jason Banton came on for his debut in the second half.

Holloway could do without a replay with his side bidding for promotion, but he is determined to make the most of the trip as they attempt to secure a fourth-round visit from Manchester City.

"It was nice for Jason to get out there and nice for Jonny as well," he said.

"I'm delighted with the lads - that's probably the youngest bench I've ever had.

"Now we've got another game away, where it's notoriously difficult, which will be fantastic experience for my lads. The confidence is starting to come."
