Yannick Bolasie: Made Championship Team of the Year

Bolasie joined Palace in the summer from Bristol City and he has impressed hugely for the Eagles, which saw him voted in the PFA team of the year by his fellow professionals.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Bolasie admits that it has already been a huge 12 months for him.

"It has been unreal for me, 12 months ago I wasn't really playing at Bristol City, now look where I am, hopefully on the verge of the play-offs and a full international," said Bolasie, who made his debut for DR Congo earlier this year.

"I have loved every minute at Palace so far, the fans took to me straight away and have been first-class - which is always a boost, and I just settled in and played my own game.

"To get into the team of the year is a massive compliment and a huge boost, but for the club too to have myself, Wilf [Wilfried Zaha] and Glenn [Murray] included."

Bolasie's eye-catching form has seen him linked with a transfer to the Premier League this summer, but he says he is only focused on Palace.

"I am only thinking about Palace at the moment, we are desperate to secure this play-off spot, and from there - you never know in football. We have not given up the Premier League dream yet, we know we are good enough," he said.

Palace take on relegation-threatened Peterborough this weekend, knowing that a point is likely to be enough to see them into the top six.

"There are no easy games in this league, as we have seen. I know a lot of people are talking about Brighton, but we need to do our job and then we can look at the path to the final," said Bolasie.

ever ceases to amaze me when ex players come out with comments like that. Clearly they have zero interest in the best interests of a club that provided them with a living to be making such idiotic and boorish comments as that. Shame on you Jimmy Case.
