Window leaves Holloway cold

Ian Holloway admits he has been too busy trying to add to his Crystal Palace squad to get excited about their Premier League return.

Palace return to the top division for the first time since 2005 when they host Tottenham on Sunday but he readily concedes there is not the same buzz as when he was about to start out with Blackpool a couple of seasons ago.

He is feeling frustrated by the transfer window which he believes makes it tougher for promoted teams to thrive.

"I'm telling you the truth, what am I excited about?" said Holloway. "Not having a squad as big as the others? This is reality now and my job is to get some more players in here now to help this group.

"I have a crushing deadline, two and a bit weeks before that window closes, how unfair is that window.

"I'm of the understanding that there should be no window because it limits you, it limits the teams that come up.

"It is a busy time for all of us managers but probably extra tough for me at the moment but there you go, such is life.

"Sam Allardyce did it brilliantly last year. By last year he already had a monster in on loan (Andy Carroll) hadn't he. I thought he did it brilliantly and he finished 10th. I thought we would have Darren Bent by today but unfortunately it didn't work but never mind.

"The pundits are saying we have no chance because we have lost Murray - 30 goals, and Wilf Zaha. I have got to work to sort that out and I believe we need another three or four [players] at least to sustain the level you need to play at in this division."

You can watch Palace take on Tottenham on Sky Sports 1 HD on Sunday from 12:30pm

put Ince in my fantasy football team, so it's no surprise at all really. I do that to players. Also responsible for De Jong and Upson being injured. Think I'll transfer in Di Maria just to ruin United....
