Marouane Chamakh: Backed to fire Crystal Palace to safety

Chamakh has looked a transformed player under Pulis, scoring two goals in his last two games to help Palace to vital wins over West Ham and Cardiff City.

The former Arsenal man struggled for form after joining Palace in the summer, but Pulis feels Chamakh will have a big role to play in their Premier League survival bid.

"If he keeps on scoring he'll be a massive asset to us," said Pulis. "If he managed 10 goals from our next 20 games I would be well pleased.

"He understands what he has to do - so long as I don't speak too quickly."

Palace take on Chelsea this weekend and Pulis admits they will go into the game with no pressure on them as they are expected to lose.

"It's about going there and enjoying it more than anything without trepidation, just get out there and do your best," added Pulis.

"We know there is a massive gulf between what Chelsea have got to what this club has got."

hould have stayed because we carried him for 6.5 years. And then he has a breakthrough season, and was gone soon after. MU fans, you would be as disgusted had C Ronaldo left in 2007 and not 2009.

ood grief. Someone guessed that the form English player at the moment might be in his national side with some other players? And that's espionage? Now if they discovered that Emile Heskey was going to be in the starting line up.... at right back.... THAT would be espionage. Give it a rest Roy.
