Top two held as Middlesbrough move up to third

Cardiff and Crystal Palace were both held to draws, while Watford piled the misery on struggling Sheffield Wednesday.

Leaders Cardiff were held to a 1-1 draw at Derby with Craig Noone being sent off for the Welsh side.

Heidar Helguson gave Cardiff the lead early on, but after Noone was sent off just past the hour mark Theo Robinson netted an equaliser for Derby.

Crystal Palace remain in second spot after they were held to a goalless draw at Hull City.

Middlesbrough moved into third spot with a 3-0 win over Huddersfield at the Riverside.

Scott McDonald scored twice with Emmanuel Ledesma netting the other from a free-kick to get Tony Mowbray's men back to winning ways after two defeats.

Watford piled the pressure on Dave Jones after a 4-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday.

Things looked good for Wednesday when Michail Antonio fired them in front after just three minutes, but Fernando Forestieri levelled matters for Watford on 18 minutes.

Alexandre Geijo gave Watford the lead on 67 minutes and further goals from Troy Deeney (75) and Mark Yeates (83) inflicted a fifth successive defeat on struggling Wednesday.

Ipswich climbed out of the bottom three with a much-needed 3-1 win over Nottingham Forest at Portman Road.

Guirane N'Daw set Ipswich on their way with the opener on 30 minutes, but Dexter Blackstock drew Forest level on 58 minutes.

Luke Hyam restored Ipswich's lead three minutes later when he scored from a rebound after DJ Campbell saw his penalty saved by Lee Camp and Daryl Murphy made sure of the win a minute from time.

Millwall continued their superb form with an impressive 1-0 win over Wolves at Molineux thanks to Andy Keogh's late strike.

Leeds made it two wins in three days with a superb 1-0 victory over high-flying Leicester City at Elland Road.

Luciano Becchio's early penalty proved to be enough to give Neil Warnock's side the three points.

Barnsley picked up a point after a 1-1 draw with Burnley at Oakwell.

Charlie Austin netted his 21st goal of the season to give Burnley the lead after just five minutes, but loan signing Marcus Tudgay drew Barnsley level on 37 minutes.

Bristol City dropped back into the bottom three after going down 2-0 to Brighton.

First half goals from Dean Hammond and Andrea Orlandi were enough to give the home side the spoils.

Blackpool were held to a 1-1 draw by Birmingham at Bloomfield Road.

Thomas Ince fired Blackpool in front in the first half, but Curtis Davies' second half effort earned Birmingham a point.

Two late goals from Ricardo Fuller (77) and Yann Kermorgant (85) earned Charlton a 2-0 win over Peterborough at the Valley to leave Darren Ferguson's men rooted to the bottom of the table.

ou spend £200 million in one year and you say 3 years to win the title, I don't think the Man U board signed you to win the title in 3 years after shelling out that sort of cash. Spending that sort of money you should be challenging for the title in this season, not getting an early excuse in to try appeasing the fans and board.
