Mick McCarthy: Town exploring all avenues

McCarthy took charge at Portman Road in November after a run of eight defeats in 11 league games had left the Championship club bottom of the table.

The former Wolves boss has since steered the Blues four points clear of the drop and Milne has made clear the club are already making plans to boost McCarthy's budget for an improved season next year.

Milne told the East Anglian Daily Times: "We're looking at different ways of selling tickets and retail products, changes to concourse catering, improving hospitality, all those sorts of things.

"We are looking at holding some more concerts at Portman Road, I know Olympic boxer Anthony Ogogo has spoken about fighting here. We need to sweat the assets.

"All of this is with a view to providing the manager with the most competitive transfer budget we can offer him. We want every penny raised and saved to go on the field."
