Frank Nouble: Signed a new deal

The striker signed a new two-year deal with Town on Friday, coming after his January arrival from Wolves.

Nouble managed two goals over the second half of last season from 19 appearances, 12 of which came off the bench, as Ipswich emerged from a Championship relegation battle to finish in 14th place under Mick McCarthy.

The 21-year-old has featured in two of Town's three matches so far this term and he is happy to be part of a club he believes are going places.

"I'm delighted to have signed a new contract and I think there are good things happening at the club, so I'm really pleased to be staying," Nouble told Ipswich's official website.

"I think the club is looking good at the minute and it feels as if we are definitely heading in the right direction.

"We finished last season well and you can feel that the optimism has carried into this year. Hopefully we can keep that going this season and try and be near to the top of the league.

"It's good for me personally as I feel wanted here. This time last year I was at Wolves and not really featuring but different managers have different ideas and I'm just thankful that the gaffer and TC (Terry Connor, assistant) see something in me and have made me part of their plans.

"I love it here at Ipswich and I want to keep progressing with the club. I certainly see my long-term future here so I'm delighted to get the contract sorted out."

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
