The 20-year-old midfielder completed a switch to Portman Road over the summer on an agreement which is due to run until the turn of the year.
This is the third time in as many seasons that Tunnicliffe has been allowed to spend time away from Old Trafford, having previously taken in spells at Peterborough United and Barnsley.
His game has benefited from regular football, and he has impressed again at Championship level this term.
Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy has already expressed a desire to see an initial agreement lengthened, and Tunnicliffe is prepared to stay on in Suffolk if United boss David Moyes sees benefit in sanctioning a deal.
He said in the Green Un: "Obviously I'm enjoying it. If I'm still playing come January then I see no reason why it wouldn't be extended, but it's up to the boss back at United what he wants to do with me.
"I think I'm doing alright, but I want to kick on and do even better."
