FL Spotlights

Over the course of the 2013/14 campaign, Sky Sports once again delved deep into the heart of the Football League in an effort to provide a greater insight into life away from the glare of the Premier League.

Nine months of madness saw us catch up with a representative from all 72 clubs, across all three divisions - with countless phone calls, numerous emails and many hours of stress producing a fitting end result.

We got the ball rolling among the early pacesetters, with Queens Park Rangers' Matt Phillips and Chesterfield's Ritchie Humphreys looking ahead to seasons that would deliver promotion joy and Scott Cuthbert reflecting on a perfect start for Leyton Orient.

From that point on there was no stopping us, with big names and big stories covered at every turn.

Among those to offer their thoughts on life in the Championship was Leicester City's Andy King, as Nigel Pearson's men bounced back spectacularly from play-off woe in 2012/13 to secure a return to the top flight as second tier champions.

Sean Dyche talked us through a remarkable effort at Turf Moor that has Burnley back in the big time, while Uwe Rosler lifted the lid on handling a heavy workload at Wigan Athletic and helping them to turn the corner.

Chris Martin discussed the art of goal-scoring at Derby County, Robert Earnshaw the thinking behind his return to British football at Blackpool, Jason Pearce another testing campaign for Leeds United and Ben Osborn a breakthrough year for him at Nottingham Forest.

Glory

In League One, we caught up with the man rebuilding Wolverhampton Wanderers, Kenny Jackett, as the men from Molineux swept their way to title glory and an immediate step back up the League ladder.

We were back in the dugout when speaking to Gillingham manager Peter Taylor, while cult hero Sergio Torres looked at the past, present and future while on the books at Crawley Town.

Top marksmen then took centre stage, with Peterborough United's Britt Assombalonga, Coventry City's Callum Wilson and Rotherham United's Alex Revell all enjoying standout campaigns, before we brought the curtain down on our third tier efforts by catching up with relieved Crewe Alexandra defender Mark Ellis.

Dropping into League Two and our early offerings included a chat with Wycombe Wanderers' Matt Bloomfield in his testimonial year and a fundraising event with a difference at Rochdale with Ian Henderson.

Gary Rowett discussed the need to keep moving Burton Albion in the right direction - as he once again took them close to promotion - Johnny Ertl emphasised the need for stability at Portsmouth and Ryan Clarke aired frustrations on behalf of Oxford United after a late wobble left them outside the play-off places.

A couple of loanees also offered an intriguing take on the benefits of time spent in new surroundings, with Wigan's Rob Kiernan and Middlesbrough's Christian Burgess getting important minutes under their belt at Southend United and Hartlepool United respectively.
