Hughton: Norwich lacked bite

Norwich boss Chris Hughton felt his side lacked a cutting edge in the 0-0 draw with Newcastle at Carrow Road.

Russell Martin shot against the post and Grant Holt went close with a header in injury time, but Norwich's winless run has stretched to five games.

Hughton admits his players must be more composed in front of goal if they are going to end this barren streak.

"There was a lack of confidence in our offensive play, possibly," he said. "We had plenty of three on two situations but we couldn't find the final ball.

"Our crosses were poor and that was very frustrating.

"What we had to make sure was if we couldn't win it, not to lose it. We've been on a difficult run at the moment where all the games have been very very tight and it was similar today.

"We were the better team, I have to say. I know we were the home side, but I think we were the better team.

"We got into the better areas, but that final pass and the quality of the final ball really let us down today."
