Spurs have opted to bring Kane back into their ranks after seeing him struggle for games at Carrow Road.

An untimely injury severely disrupted Kane's stint at Norwich, but he had returned to action at the turn of the year.

Spurs, though, believe he will be of more use to them over the second half of the season.

Villas-Boas failed to bolster his striking ranks on transfer deadline day, leaving him with just Emmanuel Adebayor and Jermaine Defoe as recognised frontmen.

"It was in both teams' interests and the player's interests too, to be fair," he said.

"Norwich have moved on and have found a striker so they didn't have the necessity to hold on to Harry and for us it gives us another option that has come through our youth level, so it's a common decision."
