Bennett wants strong finish

Elliott Bennett is hoping Norwich's 2-1 win over Reading on Saturday can be the catalyst for a good run to the end of the season.

The winger netted what proved to be the winner at Carrow Road and all but condemned the Royals to relegation from the top flight.

It also improved the Canaries' survival chances as they moved seven points clear of 18th-placed Wigan with four games to play.

But the victory was only City's second in 17 Premier League outings and Bennett knows they must improve that record over the few remaining fixtures if they are to be assured of avoiding the drop.

"It's an amazing three points and a brilliant feeling to get back to winning ways," Bennett said. "It's been a long time coming for us - we haven't been on a great run.

"We had a really good run earlier on in the season and hopefully we can go on a little bit of a run to end the season on a high."

Norwich's destiny is at least in their own hands and they have a great chance to put some more daylight between themselves and the relegation places with next opponents Stoke and Aston Villa below them in the table.

"We've just got to concentrate on ourselves," the winger said. "We've got the points on the board and hopefully we can kick on now and have some more positive results between now and the end of the season.

"The league's so tight. Everyone down there is scrapping for points and we're no different.

"Wigan can pull out points from anywhere. Hopefully we can go away to Stoke, which is a really tough place to go, and get three points."

PSG were probably not interested and he is stuck with no cake and no vacation. @Jay_D> Surely you jest about FFP being real, right? All Platini is doing is making billionaries pay measly fines, so he and his cronies can get rich. If a fool can pay 50 mil for David Luiz, he will happily pay some fine to UEFA. FFP has failed as for it to succeed UEFA had to take it...
