Hughton wants Redmond

Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has confirmed to Sky Sports that he is hopeful of landing Birmingham winger Nathan Redmond.

Last Updated: 02/07/13 at 13:58 Post Comment

Redmond impressed hugely during the recent European Under-21 Championship and many people felt he was England's best player.

Now he looks set to leave and Norwich are leading the chase, which is also believed to have included Everton and Swansea.

Hughton and Redmond were together at Birmingham, and now a deal is understood to be close to completion.

"I worked with him at Birmingham. He has done very well and he is a very exciting young player," Hughton told Sky Sports News.

"But any progress that we make on any player, we will only notify you when any business has been done."
