Leroy Fer: Delighted with move to Norwich

The Dutch international is settling into life at his new club after making the move from FC Twente last week, and flew with the squad to San Jose on Monday.

He is relishing the prospect of playing in the Premier League and believes he is at the right place after being tracked by Chris Hughton for some time.

"I'm very happy - I've been waiting for this moment for a long time," he told Canaries Player. "Chris Hughton told me that he's been following me for a long time so it's very nice to be here.

"I think the Premier League fits my qualities - I think they're good for this division. I want to help the club and I also want the club to help me become a better player."

Fer admits that the chance to link up with Ricky van Wolfswinkel was a factor in his decision to join Norwich, having seen his compatriot make the move from Sporting earlier in the summer.

"He was saying to me that he wanted me to come and play for the club - he texted me a few times," said the midfielder.

"That also helped me make my choice. I've known him around three years."

Fer added: "My new team-mates are very good and easy (to get on with). It's been very easy for me to fit in the group. The fans have been really amazing too - I'm getting lots of tweets already."

ah, Fergie is just having another pop at Rooney. He just wants to put him down whenever he gets a chance. Rooney is by far the best English player. Carrick is not far behind, mind. However, by elevating Carrick like that, Sir is having a dig at Wayne. Fergie is well-known for mind games like that. Good to see he's still feisty.
