Allardyce issues fighting talk

Sam Allardyce insists there will be no love lost as he and Chris Hughton lock horns on Saturday evening.

Sam Allardyce insists the pressure will be on Chris Hughton on Saturday night

Sam Allardyce insists the pressure will be on Chris Hughton on Saturday night

Allardyce takes his West Ham United side to Carrow Road to face Norwich City in the late kick-off with all eyes on two managers who could be in danger should they suffer defeat.

Both sides have mustered just two wins from their opening 10 Premier League fixtures but the Hammers enjoy a slender advantage in 15th with 10 points, while Norwich are languishing in the drop zone with only eight points to their name.

Hughton had a miserable time last weekend as the Canaries watched Manchester City fire seven past goalkeeper John Ruddy at the Etihad Stadium.

Norwich have won just once at home this term, beating Southampton 1-0 in August, and their only other win came away at Stoke and pressure is now mounting on Hughton.

Similarly Hammers' boss Allardyce finds himself under scrutiny with West Ham winning just one of their last nine top-flight outings, losing four and drawing four.

Pressure

However, Allardyce insists there will be no compassion on an autumn evening in Norwich as he looks to secure his job and plunge Hughton further into a relegation battle.

"If Norwich beat us he is in a much better position than I am and the pressure then comes on me," he told The Sun.

"I'm not foolish - I know the pressure is on us all. I'm two points off Chris Hughton so it is a massive game for us both.

"I don't want to finish on Saturday and be below Norwich City because then the pressure reverts on to me and it is relieved on Chris Hughton.

"The only way you survive is winning football matches."

Hughton has never prevailed against his opposite number, with Allardyce winning twice and the other three meetings between the managers ending in a stalemate.

Watch Norwich v West Ham live on Sky Sports 1HD from 5pm on Saturday.

m only commenting on this (I don't care about Liverpool) because F365's twitter said I had call Matt Stanger a tw*t (which I don't agree with anyway) but I just wanted to be the first. Am I the first?

Trial And Error Rather Than Transition

S

unday, Sunday. Will there be a fan of either team, who if they are winning after 80 mins, won't still be nervous? This could be anything from 0-0 to 5-5, and no one would bat an eye.
