Declan Rudd: Ready for Coventry challenge

The Sky Blues began their campaign with a 10-point deficit as a result of their financial turmoil and, furthermore, they will play all their home games at Northampton's Sixfields this season following a stadium dispute.

It is the relocation of Coventry's home which has seen their clash with North End pushed back 24 hours, but Rudd, borrowed from Norwich, has been impressed with the start Steven Pressley's outfit have made.

"As a footballer, as soon as you step over that white line, a game is a game," Rudd told Preston's official YouTube channel.

"Whether you're playing at someone else's ground, or your own ground or you're sharing a ground with someone, it doesn't matter really at all.

"Once you get over that line you've got a job to do. They might have been a bit unsettled going into the season but the results have shown that they've put that to one side and they've done well.

"They're nearly back on zero points and they started on minus 10 and after three games - to be on minus four now - that goes to show they've put that to one side.

"I don't think it's going to give us the upper hand; it will still be a tough game."

resumably, you wanted to keep the version of Downing that was never seen at Anfield. The one that another manager has managed to re-create. The one you passed over.
