Hill signed a new one-year contract at QPR in the summer after winning the club's player of the year award last season but is now behind Armand Traore in the pecking order at Loftus Road.
The 34-year-old has worked with Leeds boss Neil Warnock before in spells at Crystal Palace and QPR and could be tempted by the opportunity to play first-team football.
Warnock's side have lost three on the bounce and the veteran boss is keen to bolster a creaking defence that conceded six goals in their last home game against Watford.
Hill, who can play at centre-back or left-back, joined the Hoops on a free transfer in July 2010.
